So I er, ordered myself a new resin doll this week. I’m selling quite a few anime figures in return, but it will be worth it! I’ve actually sold quite a few anime figures over the last couple of months (not to mention one of my SD-sized dolls – not Maya of course). I’m not going off collecting them or anything, but I simply can’t support the hobby in the way I did in Japan, and I’ve had more pressing financial concerns (and I’m not talking about dolls – I mean my rent!)
In any case, after working out that I’d have enough money by selling the right things and being careful with money, I went ahead and ordered the doll. I’ve now got a wait of a couple of months or so ahead of me, but I’m sure the time will pass quickly with ‘delightful’ things such as my 15,000-word dissertation to deal with in the meantime…
And this is my new purchase! Another boy doll, since the female and neutral dolls I want are way out of my budget range right now. He’s MSD-sized (about 43cm high) and this time I’ve gone for a doll with tan skin. Tan dolls are actually kind of a pain to get hold of, not to mention considerably more expensive. The colour is more delicate and not as stable and easily affected by humidity levels, so companies may have to cast more dolls in order to get one of suitable quality, and often there are small flaws in the colour anyway so many companies (especially the pricier ones) are reluctant to offer them as standard releases. I’ve wanted a tan doll for a while, but the companies that sell them have been either too expensive or not appealing to me (several of the cheaper companies like Bobobie offer a range of colours as standard, but alas I’m not a fan of their sculpts).
He’s by a Korean company called Angelheim who I think are one of the newer companies around but their dolls are lovely, especially the fantasy parts. He’s limited to 15 (and his ‘twin’ doll is also limited to 15). Originally they were supposed to be time-limited ending on January 31st, but they had a 50% off sale on all of their older dolls running at the same time and most people opted for those instead, so they didn’t sell many of the twins and switched them to quantity limited instead. That was when I caved and ordered him. I had expected that I wouldn’t be able to justify getting him within the time limit and gave up originally, but seeing such a beautiful pair of dolls neglected like that I couldn’t restrain myself ^^;
He comes with human parts as well as the fantasy ones (including horns not shown in the image) and I’m getting him full set except for the painting on the fantasy parts, so he’ll have the same wig and outfit and the faceup, although I think the eyes will be random.

Well to start with, that new doll you’ve purchased is absolutely stunning. The eyes! Oh the eyes! I hope you get eyes just like those. The whole thing is just truly beautiful and I’m sure no matter what you get it will be magnificent.
But I could cry. I checked out your figures for sale and the Natsume, Ciel and Sebastian figures make me weepy that I cannot purchase. Nyanko hanging off the tree is just too cute.
Yeah, I really like the eyes from the promo shots. I think if I don’t get an eye colour like the ones shown I’ll probably buy a blue or maybe green pair for him anyway.
It’s kind of painful to be selling some of them, really. Then when I look at the images of the doll I just ordered I remind myself why I’m selling them! In any case I can’t keep more than I have space for, and I’m very much running out of that.
>U< AHHH!! He's really adorable! *___* Those wings are so detailed too~ I wasn't even aware that Angelheim had released a few new dolls, as they don't get much in the way of 'press' on DoA. They look like they're really improving and will continue to!

Yeah, I love his wings. I’ve been a bit of a wings fan since getting the LE Bory that Luts did last year.
I kept forgetting that Angelheim even existed because I never see their dolls around DOA – I’m going to make sure to post plenty of pictures when I get mine! I only found out about the twins when I checked the AH website after seeing someone with a Luka at a meetup last month. I think doll companies who make fantasy parts tend to get a bit overshadowed by Soom (unless they do really weird out-there stuff like the last few Impldoll limiteds).
