Gurren Lagann + Gundam 00 LE DVD 1 Sets (UK Edition)

I thought I’d take a few photos to show off my recently arrived purchases. I had the limited edition version of both the Gurren Lagann and Gundam 00 first DVD sets preordered after Amazon UK decided for some reason to price the regular and limited versions of Gurren Lagann the same. I had originally intended to just get the limited version of 00 and the regular of TTGL.

I believe both sets are quite different from the US releases, both in the packaging and the extras, and Beez obviously put a lot of work into both sets because they look really awesome.

This is what the set included. The DVDs contain the first nine episodes, and Beez put them into a single digipack to save space. The box is sturdy, and not too large thanks to the reduced number of cases it has to fit. The extras are a badge of Yoko’s hair clip, a Gurren-dan patch and the light-up drill that I believe the American set also came with.

Gundam 00 – Episode 25

That was such a messy episode, but I did enjoy it overall. The raw took forever to download for me today, as usual with Gundam (torrents are always bad for me when there are massive numbers of people trying to download) and I’m busy with assignments, so this week’s post is quite a late one. Gundam 00 – Episode 24

Lots of fun things in this week’s episode to set things up for next week’s finale. Freshverse was up and running this week, so I could watch the episode without too much lag or distorted sound. Half the time I was too busy getting worked up over the episode to actually make a real effort to understand the dialogue, though. It took forever for me to get the raw so I could get some screencaps – both torrents I tried just kept dying, so I had to wait for a download link to be posted over at the Livejournal community. Long post this week, because there were just too many good scenes.

I got two-thirds of the way through this post and my browser died on me D: I had to rewrite almost all of it, because the autosave hadn’t gone through for over half an hour. Next time I’ll manually save on a regular basis -_-;

Gundam 00 – Episode 23

The Keyhole stream was so laggy this week that I had to get the raw in order to get a better idea of what happened in the episode, which took ages to download the last 50mb or so. I don’t normally watch the raws, because with the stream and subs as well, I’d be watching each episode three times. I picked it up this time, though, so quite a few screenshots, and with the raw I can pick out and understand bits of the dialogue a lot better. Spoilers below, of course.
