Figma Ein!

Figma Ein Prototype!

From the Japanese magazines comes the surprise announcement of a Figma version of Ein from Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~, the new Bee Train anime based on a suspense visual novel. It’s practically inevitable that she’ll get a PVC or two (I’d love one of her and Zwei in an action pose or something, but it’s probably unlikely given the aversion most figure companies have to male characters) but a Figma being announced first was definitely unexpected.

I can’t wait to see the coloured version. From the silhouette she’ll be wearing her yellow shirt outfit. It looks like she’ll only be 10cm high as well, which is really tiny. I know she’s not a tall character, but it that’s especially small, so looks like Max Factory might be experimenting with different sizes of Figma? The only accessory clear so far is her gun. I hope they’ll include her mask as well. I can’t imagine they can do much for alternate faces given she only has one expression most of the time.

I really hope they do a Zwei Figma as well. They’re a great team, so I feel like it would be a shame to only have one of them – with both of them there would be even more potential for neat action scenes, especially with the newly announced di:stage sets. They’re pretty good with making male characters as well as female, so maybe there’s hope.

Initial Impressions – Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~

Usually when a new season starts, I try out an episode or two of anything that sounds vaguely interesting, and then pick and choose the ones I actually end up enjoying, so now that I have a blog, I’m going to take the opportunity to give a brief overview of my impressions of the shows I try out. I’ll only end up blogging a couple of them in the end, but I’ll try to give a post each for the shows I attempt. I won’t be taking a look at every new show, just the ones that caught my attention, or get unexpectedly good reviews from other sites.

I’ll be watching these shows raw for the most part. My Japanese isn’t good enough to catch everything, but I should be able to get the gist of an episode.

First up on my list of shows is Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~, an action/suspense show from Bee Train based on a visual novel by Nitroplus. I was interested in this one right away, despite many people mentioning that the previous anime adaptation was rather bad. I’m not familiar with the visual novel, but the premise seemed interesting enough to catch my attention.
